Perfect York Beach Location

Situated along Long Sands Beach, the Sunrise Motel is the perfect family getaway or vacation retreat to relax and play along the Maine coast. A few steps across Long Beach Ave and you are on one of the longest beaches in southern Maine, stretching nearly two miles. Of the four beaches in York, Long Sands (as the name suggests) is the longest. In the summer months, Long Sands beach is transformed to a vibrant community of sun worshippers, surfers, paddle boarders, swimmers, children and adults alike are exploring sand and sea, building sand castles before the tide washes them all away!

Then there are the seasons, late summer turns to cool fall nights, brilliant sunrises, mild, sunny days and breathtaking sunsets reflecting off the breaking ocean waves and any clouds that may form over the ocean. And then there are the York winters! >The locals will be walking their dogs of every breed.At the beach, dressed appropriately, you will experience yet another transformation, the solitude of the surf pounding the nearly frozen sand and yet for reasons unknown to us, the surfers are still chasing waves (appropriately suited). There is hiking or cross country skiing and much more. It’s all available and we are happy to help maximise your experience while staying at the Sunrise.

The Sunrise Motel is minutes away from scenic sites, shopping and Maine dining options. York Harbor, Historic York ME and the York Cliff Walk is just around the corner, as well as Nubble Lighthouse and the Ogunquit Playhouse. 15 minutes south of the Sunrise Motel is Kittery Shopping Outlets, where Maine deals abound.

Choose from Deluxe Rooms and Studio Suites

The Sunrise Motel has 25 spacious guest rooms on three floors, with several types to suit your comfort and needs. The Deluxe Ocean View Rooms all have fridge/microwaves while the Studio Suites have butler kitchens and kitchenettes. In addition, all the guest rooms at the Sunrise Motel are equipped with free hi-speed internet access, as well as guest-controlled heat and a/c, flat-screen TV with expandable cable, and in-room coffee and phone.

The rooms at the Sunrise Motel have either one king bed or two double beds, located on all floors. The Suites or Efficiencies have either one king or two doubles. Some have butler kitchens, which are kitchenettes without the stovetop, and some have loveseats. There are two Suites that have special amenities, such as a separate bedroom or deck.
